Never put a good book behind a bad cover.
If you've written a great book that needs to be read by as many people as possible, don't put all your hard work behind a cover that sells you and your message short. The right cover will help you attract readers and communicate to them that your book is worth their time, attention, and money.
Unfortunately, the self-publishing industry has seen more than enough bad cover design. But it doesn't have to be that way for your book. My desire is to give every author I work with a high-quality cover that makes a great impression in the marketplace.
You might not have a big-time book deal (yet), but that's no reason to settle for a third-rate cover.
